i have the 1.63 version of the game and when i try to update, it says 0x80002000. i have deleted the old version and re-installed and it still says the same thing. i am using mac os x lion and i have done everything in the apple forum and to no avail. please help me!

i bought the game off amazon.ca and i have a 1.63 version of the game, but when i try and update to this version, it says: “the sims 3 requires mac os x 10.6.8 or later. this game will not run on earlier versions of mac os x.” i have the latest version of mac os x, but it still says that.

i cant even find any update 1.63.x on any of the sites. i tried the official site and i tried sims4game.com. i tried fy_nc.net and etc. but none of them has the version i want. where can i download it?

i have a fair idea that the proper way is to download the updater and then run it, but am new to this. i have the download page (the sims4game.com one), but dont know what to do next. do i need to unzip the files? do i extract the rar file on the updater? how do i do this?
