How do I upload a high-resolution image file using Celery?
I want to do this by sending the image through a REST call. What should I do to get Celery to recognize the file extension and handle it as a file upload?

Answer to your question in the comments under the question is that :
You can add some functionality by creating custom Task. Firstly take a look at documentation.
For example :

Next, to make it work, you have to add some code in order to make your task work with rest.
CustomTask represents new type of task that doesn’t consume all custom attributes that are associated with celerytasks (__task_name__, __class__, etc). It provides some additional attributes and has its own methods.
