3D support
Until AutoCAD 2004, 2D and 3D geometries were stored as separate entities in the same file. In AutoCAD 2004, all three-dimensional objects, such as a drawing plane or a solids are unified into a single 3D model in the 2D drawing.
Design editors
Most of the design functions are supported by the DesignCenter.
Edits are performed in other windows as well, such as the Overview and Properties windows.
The AutoCAD LT, a Windows-only version, does not have an integrated design mode. Instead, the design tool of the LT version is the “Extended Editor”. In this tool, objects are edited using simple lines, handles and fill styles.
The “Extended Editor” can be used to edit any object in AutoCAD, but is not useful to design 3D models. Another disadvantage of the design tool is that design edges can’t be merged or split. Only objects can be merged or split, only a single object can be deleted at a time. This tool is only available in the free AutoCAD LT version.
The “Extended Editor” is also present in AutoCAD LT (not available in the Standard version).

Government should intervene to stop the price of milk falling too low, Pakistan’s top agricultural policy maker has said.
“We want to increase the milk supply and for that we are going to produce milk, but if the price keeps falling we will not be able to produce that much,” said WAPDA’s head Waqar Ahmad Khan at the 29th annual meeting of the National Agricultural Economics Research Institute (NAEARI).
“We are going to start many new projects that will help increase the availability of food.”
He said he was also looking at how to boost dairy production, and that he was optimistic about production of poultry and fish.
Mr Khan said Pakistan was developing an agri-climatology service which would help in the management of the country’s water resources.
“It will help us in planning for how to save water and how to manage our resources.”
He said there was enough soil in Pakistan for raising its population to 100 million, but if farmers used the land properly, that figure could be doubled.
In response to a question, he said there was no time limit for the government in implementing policies and strategies.
“We can do anything if we have the will and the resources.”

In the past, AutoCAD® did not include support for notes and annotations. This was a major oversight, because notes and annotations help designers and users understand the intent of a drawing. Also, they’re important for continuity. For example, in AutoCAD for Mechanical Engineers, engineers and drafters have to use notes to communicate with each other. Notes that are not attributed to a specific drawing or feature are typically discarded.
Notes and annotations have been added to AutoCAD 2020, but the functionality was tied to the 2D axis and axis annotation.
In AutoCAD 2023, we’ve added support for multiple note and annotation types. In this article, I’ll share how to add new annotation types and assign a color to each type. You’ll learn how to send a note, create a custom icon, and apply an instant annotation.
